Interesting to see how this thread turned into an attempt by certain posters to try and justify bangers!

It's a strong side to start on but the match report doesn't exactly bathe him in glory.
Hopefully he played better than it implies.
Noel Reid and James Rodriguez were separated at birth.

That's very interesting because he was at the match in Donnybrook last Friday night and we were wondering if maybe he had been kept on within the Leinster setup somewhere.

I'm delighted for him - while he may not have been who I'd want for a replacement outhalf, he was a very nice bloke and always had time for the kids.

Yep best of luck to him, especially after such an injury interrupted season last year. Put in a few great performances for Leinster when Sexton was injured, and really knew his way around the iPhone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9H4nFJ1kC4

How former Leinster players are faring

Post by simonokeeffe »

Niall Morris scored last week for Leicester, he got an assist this week but his opposite number got a hat trick (haven't seen them though)
Kyle Tonetti has only been on the bench for Sale so far
Downey seems to be mullocking along as ever

Couple of ex Leinster players will be lining out for Russia so suppose we have to cheer for Russia v USA

Rocky just signed for Waratahs for next 2 seasons. Pity they couldn't get him back to Melbourne.

"Back" to Melbourne?

He was raised in Queensland. Played for The tahs in Sydney. Came to Leinster. Went to the Brumbies in Canberra. When did he fit Melbourne in? :)

As a Tahs fan, since before he left, I am happy to see him "Back". :)

He was born and raised in Melbourne, think he only moved to Queensland in his teens. I think most of his family are based in Melbourne, his brother is an estate agent in our suburb.
I just wanted him "back" as I'm going to be a Rebels STH next season and wanna get my money's worth :)

As I'm not going to be in Sydney next year, I wouldn't begrudge you. :)

Seems like a big and passionate crowd in Melbourne despite it being only the 1st year.

I had always thought he was a Queenslander. I remember people saying that he might go to the Reds (after us) cause his burd was there. I only knew of him since his Sydney days.

I will have to console myself with a Leinster season ticket to make up for the chyte winter that's probably on the way while you lot are getting your ars£s roasted.

Yeah, I only caught the last 3 games of last season but it's decent enough. From what I've seen so far, a fair percentage of the support are British and Irish expats. Union is very much a minority sport in Melbourne, so think supporters here make extra effort and really appreciate having a S15 team at last.
It's not a patch on Leinster but it'll have to do me for next few years :)
