Pubs reopening 21st September. Watching rugby over a pint isn't going to cost me an extra €9.

Cobra Kai.

- Plenty of callbacks to the original to make me feel young
- Better humour than I was expecting (Johnny Lawrence is especially good in that respect)
- The teenagers are less irritating than average
- Best of all someone gets the shyte karated out of them every ten minutes

Delighted you've stayed out of its cross--hairs. It's been too long since I've seen that magnificent flag and beard

Good news RP.
Have you ever considered getting an antibody test.
Worth checking if your Health Insurer would cover.
You could try pleading special circumstances or some such.

It wasn't on one of Ireland's famous links golf courses and it wasn't won by a Golf superstar like Jon Rahm last year in Lahinch. But American John Catlin won his second European Tour event in three weeks by finishing with three birdies in the last four holes for a 64 and a two-shot victory to win the Irish Open

Not a De Chambeau type of golfer, more a Jim Furyk, Catlin finished his week's work with a superb 265 yd three-wood to set up his winning birdie and get to 10 under par and put the pressure on long time leader Aaron Rai who then needed to birdie the final two holes to tie Catlin and did the first part with a great 3 on the 17th only to pull his three-wood second 20 yards left on the final hole into thick rough and finish second with a six.

Well done Galgorm Castle Club in Ballymena for staging the Irish Open at short notice when Mount Juliet had to be withdrawn because of Covid. A decent course and the weather made it a tough challenge as Shane Lowry and Padraic Harrington will testify.

Catlin won his first European tour event in Valdorama three weeks ago and this second win suggests that another top US golfer has made his break-through via the European Tour rather than the big bucks PGA tour in the US. He has now moved into the top 100 in the world.

Nice story to end the weekend. Fair play to the winner, partipants, golf club and organisers.

From the Indo:
Green Party activists told don’t use 'big words' when talking to rural voters and Travellers
Senator Róisín Garvey says she learned this from working with Travellers
Members told people may not understand words like biodiversity so talk about flowers, cattle and sparrows
Brilliant!

Sean Connery walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance, and then casually glances at his watch for a moment.
The woman notices this and asks "Is your date running late?"
"No" he replies. "Q has just given me this new state-of-the-art watch. I was just testing it."
Intrigued, the woman asks, "A state-of-the-art watch, what's so special about it?"
Bond explains, "It uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically."
The lady asks, "What is it telling you now?"
"Well, it says that you are not wearing any panties" Bond responds.
The woman giggles and replies, "Well it must be broken because I am wearing panties."
Bond smirks, taps his watch and says, "Bloody thing's an hour fast."

LEGEND RIP.
