Don't understand the cigarettes & drink. They put the levy down on booze last time out, would be fairly pain free to put it back up.

Petrol stations have already put the price up so it'll really be up 6/7c by this time tomorrow.

Disability usually follows jobseekers

PAYE to be fudged, again

They need to be careful with ciggs as higher prices increases the use of dodgy imported stuff, increased drink prices can also drive people North meaning this state misses out on the VAT on that and other items whilst people are doing their shipping up there).

Good to hear of the salary cap in the semi state sector. . . .a complete farce that the head of the DAA earns more than the French Prime Minister!

The Basc-tards 138.9 in our local spot, put that up another 4 cent and its an Evening Hearld short of €80 to fill my tank...

There's a Grandstanding by JHR that will take place long before Captain Kirk will be called on.
Indeed, Lucinda (et al) may even cause an 89th minute upset.

It's all agreed that it's going to be painful but hopefully there is going to be something in it that will be positve and just might give a spark to various sectors of the economy, be it the travel tax or the home energy saving scheme....... something!!

Brilliant idea .... it'll increase transportation costs and therefore will increase the cost to do business.
Just what we need at the moment, inflationary costs to businesses when we're deflating the economy.

Keep an eye out for the NERP - National Energy Retrofit Programme.
There will be a lot of government money plunged into it .... a lot of which is ringfenced funding from the Carbon Tax.

Damage done on that one I fear.

VAT to go up (this yr or next?) - they should leave it the same. The VAT is going up in the North

not on the pint though.

The trend has been to push up the cost of off-sales while dropping the levy on pub sales. Last year the price of the pint came down.

Can't understand why <scratches head>
