Do we have to do this again?

Just send the cup to Leeson St now, save all the mammys doing the washing during the season.

Blackrock have an unbelievable team by all accounts. Apparently St Andrew's are supposed to be good too (but I find that pretty hard to take that too seriously). I'm going for a CUS double myself.

Watch out for Rock JCT next season (2011 and 2012) too. Some great talent in there. Have coached them myself. They're 1st years now

Andrews have a decent side alright. Joking aside CUS don't have a bad side either. Neither at the standards of Rock though

It's our well known tactic of fooling teams into underestimating us come the Cup

Newbridge would never be considered a threat - we save our strength for the big games.

The Captain of the 1977 CUS JCT defected to Newbridge for 5th and 6th year. Great openside and all round enforcer.
He probably doesn't know whether to laugh or cry :)

Is he still playing for the Newbridge JCT - I think the Branch should look into this....

In 1987, CUS played Roscrea in the first round of the SC. The two captains were twin brothers, the Roscrea lad having left CUS the previous year and having played on the SCT too...the culchies won.... :(

Beg to differ - that was '85 or '86 I think. They were the Massey twins - one of them went to Roscrea after the Inter Cert (in '84). I think both of them played SCT in 5th year ('85) when they might have met. I played in '86 with Keith in CUS - think we were beaten by Mary's IIRC. But they had brothers who played around the same time as well just to add to the confusion

As a Junior team we were half decent - knocked out by Blackrock by a point or two who then went on to win it. All went to pot by 6th year as we discovered booze, fags and other badness "en masse"

We were chyte. Had I not been out injured for 13 months over the previous 2 seasons I had an outside chance of 3 JCTs in a row. (Well I might have scraped sub the 1st year, down hill with a wind behind me) That year were quite good.

As it was we lost in the 1st round. the only year I played. :(

I just discovered booze, fags and other badness on my own back then.
