Leinster u20's finishing 10, 11, 12, 13 last night were all ex-club players: Joey Carberry(Athy), Robie Vallejo(New Ross), Fergal Cleary(Navan) and Conor O'Brien(Mullingar).

Of course Cleary and Carberry both ended up heading to off to play schools rugby with Clongowes and Blackrock.

The bolded statement is of course true, but all those players are very definitely products of the youths/clubs system. A lot of credit is due to the clubs [and obviously the players themselves], but also to the branch for their improved infrastructure in underage club rugby over the last decade.

Only 3 players at under-19 level so far, Andrew Feeney(Suttonians), Adam Coyle(Naas) & Vakh Abdaladze(Coolmine).
Conor O'Brien obviously skipped 19's and went straight to 20's and I believe Neill Reilly(Ardee) is with the 20's too while eligible for the 19's

Jeremy Loughman is also a youths product via Athy. The structures are much improved at youths with very few players not been identified.

Didn't realise that about Loughman – an impressive player. Thanks for the info!

structures are better, coaching is improving.. biggest battle is playing numbers and competing with GAA/Soccer especially in non traditional areas

Wouldnt several of those in Leinster squad be out of school but are listed as school or are all those listed with school following their name still in 6th year?

Strange some Ulster players have no club listed yet. Surely at this stage they would be assigned to or have joined a club

Nope some of them are certainly out of school, just no club listed for them as of yet. Gilsenan for example.

Wouldn't all of them be out of school as Leinster have rule that everyone to play 20s is in 3rd level and out of school with only a few small exceptions?
Strange no club listed for any player as its not as if it wouldn't be known which club a player is with as they'd all have decided which club they'd be joining for the season.

That team is the 19s, which is a mix of club players, schools players and ex-schools players who are entering college.
20's is for players that are out of school, otherwise James Ryan would be with them. There are 5 u19's involved with that squad(Porter, Jones, Reilly, O'Brien, Power) all are out of school.
