Really? Was very impressed by that lad but thought he'd gone to the Ulster academy.
I was talking to his Da in August when we were in that hub of European nightlife that is Leicester.

Stephen was playing in the "other" match that was on that day.

He was commuting to Leinster at one stage from up north (not sure what his official status was if any) Reading between the lines, I'm not sure that he got much encouragement from LR, and when he got the chance to go to Leicester he was gone like a bullet from a gun.

Can't have been anything terribly official as he had signed for Leicester as early as July.

Conor McInerney keeps his place for the game against Connacht. If he goes well he could be facing his old Leinster teammates the following week. Latest Welsh wizard out-half Matthew Morgan makes his debut. Will probably be brilliant for three or four years and then break the Ospreys hearts by pissing off to France or England. :D

15 Gareth Owen
14 Kristian Phillips
13 Sonny Parker
12 Ashley Beck
11 Richard Fussell
10 Matthew Morgan
9 Rhys Webb

1 Duncan Jones
2 Mefin Davies
3 Craig Mitchell
4 Conor McInerney
5 Ian Evans
6 Justin Tipuric
7 Marty Holah
8 Jerry Collins (Capt)

Replacements
16 Scott Baldwin
17 Joe Rees
18 Cai Griffiths
19 James Goode
20 James King
21 Jamie Nutbrown
22 Matthew Jarvis
23 Barry Davies

Sad news indeed. Gutting for the lad. Very tough to have your career end before you're 25.

Yeah, not nice to hear but hopefully it's not going to affect McInerney beyond rugby. Had only just broken into the team too.

I'm surprised he's playing junior rugby. Leinster to Leinster League in just a few short years....

He played Leinster and Ireland schools so must have been on Leinster's radar. Surprising that Ulster didn't have a look at him though - they've gone as far as Australia for D'Arcy.
