....of which €4m is going to player bonuses for qualifying and another couple of million into Trap's new contract. Balance will be the downpayment on Delaney's bartab.

That's all ex commercial revenue and increased value for TV rights etc, so the final figure should be pretty decent. €8million is more than Leinster's total budget!

the hundred million figure is based on the fact that 500,000 people will spend an extra €200 on "unnecessary luxuries" such as BBQ's, Beer, Jerseys, Bunting, tracksuits, white socks etc in the build up to the Euro Cup

If you consider the "good will" of being the only English speaking country, not to be involved in riots, it is certainly worth a lot more than €100m over the next few years

Has anyone heard from Mauler since Tuesday night?
I'm worried he might have spontaneously combusted when Ireland qualified.
Either that or he's busy building a very long extension to his wall!

You should quote your source on the above statement i.e Jim Power and stop the pretence that you have an in-depth knowledge of microeconomics as the bit underlined would clearly show you have not.
Or was it just rank snobbery?

I'm hopeing it's all just a bad dream & I'll wake up to find Steve Staunton is still manager of the Used Car Salesmen, no hope of qualification and NAMA has not taken over my ghost-wall.

We'll also see how our self-claimed (then again, most countries claim the same) 'best fans in the world' react when the English arrive in the Aviva next year. There is something about that English football jersey that bring out the worst in people. It's a long way off, but I anticipate a night of tension with the customary booing of anthems

It is the media who hung that moniker on the Irish, not the fans. I'd be more concerned how the English fans react as per usual. Because as sure as night follows day the Irish will not instigate any trouble.

you are the one who underlined tracksuits, which fell into the extra €200 of extra spending, which was not rank snobery
The white socks was however rank snobery (misunderstood humour) because spending an extra two euros in pennys won't help the economy in the same way as a €70 trcksuit

have an economics Major, and know the difference between macro and micro
