Eric Miller deservedly got sent off in the game but check out Clohessy's knee to the head of Big Mal after two minutes of the game. Should have seen red too. Had forgotten how much of a dirty bollix he was

Of course he deserved to go but the reason he did it was Clohessy was putting himself about right from the off culminating in Millers frustration getting the better of him.

Clohessy is pure munster, a filthy b*****d.

The "fireworks" at the end are hillarious...straight out of a Fr. Ted sketch...

Amazing how far we've come in 10 years...from the biggest head-to-head game in the history of the fixture (with international trophy at stake) not being able to sell out the old lansdowne (and that was considered a brilliant crowd at the time...indeed, it was my first ever Leinster game) to selling out Croke Park's 82,000 in less than a decade, to being amongst the 2 biggest sides in European and even world rugby....all in 10 years....we've come a long way.

The league still has a way to come, but the PRO12 is now on the right track. I think it's got the marketable name (if only people would stop calling it the Rabo!) and the Italian inclusion is important to make it the 4 nations domestic league, and play-offs in line with the other leagues, I feel the structure is right now for it to grow into the major competition it is and will be. The last thing that comes right is the crowd numbers (for Scottish and Welsh), everything else has to be right first.

The last major obstacle is getting a proper TV deal in place with an international broadcaster. Would love to see a dedicated sports broadcaster pick up the league and get that kind of TV revenue coming in and have a proper format and quality broadcaster.

Thanks for posting though. Brings me right back to where it all started.

If we get to the play-offs final and are at home I think we should definitely play it in lansdowne and have that big final occasion with the league and trophy presentation, and I think as it's the final and last game of the season, we'd definitely get the numbers.

As Ó Muireacheartaigh would say "Sár cic i lár na páirce !"

God, it looks mild now, when you measure it up against spear tackles, high tackles and other forms of foul play that are more commonplace in today's game.

This type of 'cute hoor' shite really gets on my nerves. Miller was a great (and unlucky) player, but there's no excuse for his actions. And the fecker got sent off! The fact that we won shouldn't blind us to the fact. Stupid! The fact that Clohessy might have done worse (and he did)- is no excuse.

Stop aping Shelbyville. But it was a great match to win against the odds; the start of us as a club that performs on the big occasions.

It's hard to believe just how cynical Munster were then. Teams playing Munster just weren't allowed recycle, whatever it took. Players taken out off the ball all over the shop. 9 times out of 10 they'd have won that game, but the ref had his contacts in that day. The Leinster pack, even with guys like Miller, Vic, Munch and Gleese in it, looked a lot softer than Munster's. We had parity in the scrum, but were out-dogged by the Munster lads.

You can just see how much of a 10-man game they played - and how successful it would prove to be, in that final.

Jim Williams head and shoulders the best forward on the pitch in that game.
