Saw some of that
A Rock/Belvo final was shown the previous night with Madigan, the 3 above and cian Healy all featuring. I assume they are rerunning previous cup finals ahead of their coverage of this years cup.

Belvo have some pretty talented players in their squad but they are young.. a year too soon perhaps.
Clongowes backline is talented but not sure it's pack can handle either Michael's or Blackrock.
Newbridge are an older squad and have enough to compete and possibly beat any side they face. Could easily make final.

Paul O'Donohoe and Ian Keatley were the half-back combo for Belvo in that final in 2005.

Was at the Blackrock v CBC match today. The Blackrock pack is monstrous. Interesting to see Matt O'Connor taking in the game too.

They are huge. 1 4th year, 1 5th year and 6 6th years.

Timoney played at 7 after being an 8 last year, it's probably his future position if he wants to make it professionally.
David O'Connor is a massive 8. Has played second row for Leinster underage.
Jeremy Loughman is a massive unit at TH.

Timoney was packing down at 8 on their attacking scrums. Their TH is huge. By most schools' standards the CBC team wasn't small but they looked like a JCT next to Blackrock. They defended quite well but couldn't contain the big ball carriers close to the line.

The organisers need to borrow the ERC's set of 'hot' balls for doing the draw - this should have been the final.

Is it time for the competition to be seeded to keep the best teams away from each other until the semis?

Luck of the draw. Would obviously prefer if they had avoided each other for another round at least. But unsure how you seed it.

Michael's are young so they have another chance next year.

I think so... I am a Gonzaga man and there have been years we have deserved to be in the Semi Finals but alas we have never made it.

This years team does not deserve to be in the Semis. They lost every game they played in the League and qualified through the vinnie murray. However, all that stands in the way is Kings Hospital and St.Andrews. Not saying we'll do it but we don't deserve to be there. Whatever team makes it to that semi will get mullered.

No to seeding. If they are going to keep the straight knock out format then no seeding and you play whoever you are drawn against.
I know what people will say in reply to this but if competition is to change. champions league groups of 4 then knock out games but that will never happen..
