The initial fixture was due to be played on Sunday, 10 February but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The other three games in the Bank of Ireland Leinster Schools Senior Cup will be played this week.

It knocks the scheduling and match preparations for both teams out of kilter, as well as whomever the winner plays in the semi-final.It may even see one team having to play 3 big matches in a shortened time frame and be disadvantaged relative to other teams that will be fresh. I think it is a manageable issue if they change the date of the final.
However, it seems this outbreak has gone beyond one school and is into Trinity and Maynooth among others. What happens if some of the other schools have outbreaks? Nobody wants to see a walkover.
What happens if Michael's have an outbreak close to the 25th Feb? Is there another 2 week deferral or do schools have to field those deemed to be healthy and let the fixture play out?
Disrupting sporting competitions is the least of the issues arising from what can only have have been caused by those parents who decided that the MMR is not for their children. It is a serious public health issue for the vulnerable and reckless parents should reflect on their actions.
