I spoke to Harry Byrne at the open training session in Donnybrook today and he said he had expected to go on the trip. He seemed disappointed.

Didn't know that Salanoa was still involved with us. No idea what his prospects are but it'd be a pretty cool story if he made it.

What are the chance that this is related to the brittle health of our #1 & 2 out-halves right now?

Huh? What are they playing at with only 22 players? Spose it's something to do with not wanting to take too many from the clubs?

What happens if a lock or backrow gets injured?

you'd have to question the point in this tour.

Exactly Ronk, you'd have to question the point of this tour.

Was thinking the same thing. Anyone know if he is going to be brought into the set-up?

He is miles off, i'd say this little trip may help him get a contract in the US.

Can't imagine Trinity will be happy.

But of the 7 UCD players, they've seen hardly anything of them this year. Patterson was used a bit but I think that Nick McCarthy will be lining out for the rest of the season so not a bad trade off

Of the 7 UCD players, 4(Fleming, Tarrant, O'Sullivan and Murphy) have been UCD U20 players this season. O'Brien and Mullin have rarely played for UCD and Patterson has a few recent appearances.

OF the 6 trinity players, 4(Coyne, Sheehan, Baird and Russell) have been regular AIL starters this season. Kelly hasn't played for them since christmas time and O'Reilly have been an U20 player.

So they will really want the 4 mentioned back for their AIL semi final against Cork Con.

And the 20's season is over now wit their loss to UCC so not too bad from UCD's POV.

4 huge losses for Trinity though. They'd be hoping those boys come back fit

Look at what Ian Keatley is missing out on, travelling to the US to bench for the As. They have 2 specialist scrumhalves on the bench!

This sort of vindictiveness to loyal players is shockingly bad karma.
