No Quinn Roux? Very surprised at that

Yep thought he would defo make the extended squad.Twist wrote:No Quinn Roux? Very surprised at that
Highlight Reel McCloskey didn't make it either.
Well done Dave Kearney.

Re: RWC 2019
Probably only Rory O’Loughlin and Fergus McFadden from Leinster unlucky to miss out. Mike Haley isn’t good enough IMHO.

With that many players, I'm more surprised by who's missing that who's in.

I'd say you'd get a decent XV out of players not picked for this squad.

Re: RWC 2019
Addison hasn't played since getting injured in the pre 6 Nations camp - he had surgery in April

Re: RWC 2019
Roux and Addison probably the big surprises out of that. Can't understand Schmidt dropping Roux now after he has picked him so regularly over the last few years. Or is he injured? Addison will surely be in too if he can prove his fitness. Very valuable player to have in a RWC squad.Twist wrote:With that many players, I'm more surprised by who's missing that who's in.

Delighted for DK to be in.
Not sure what R Scannell has done to be in there!

Are the IRFU precluded from saying a player is unavailable due to injury if the player doesn't want his injury status made public?

Are you thinking with Addison? It's odd that he hasn't been included given his versatility and ability.Dave Cahill wrote:Are the IRFU precluded from saying a player is unavailable due to injury if the player doesn't want his injury status made public?

Re: RWC 2019
given its a 44-man training squad for pre-season and preparatory camps....shown Joe correct technique and ability holding a tackle bag and mimic other teams back-line movements perhaps?wixfjord wrote:Roux and Addison probably the big surprises out of that. Re: RWC 2019
Just checked with sources, possibility that he might not play again apparently. Hope that doesn't transpire, he's a super player.Dave Cahill wrote:He hasn't played since he got injured in the Pre-Six Nations camp and he had back surgery in AprilFlash Gordon wrote:Are you thinking with Addison? Re: RWC 2019
Maybe, but there isn't really a spot for him at one the provinces. Classy player, but he's doing well where he is and would probably back himself to kick on to the England squad proper.blockhead wrote:Callum Sheedy.
Dads from Kildare, played for us at U-19, turned down offer to play for Wales at U20, playing for England in BaaBaas game which does not tie him to England. I wonder could a chat from Andy Farrell get him in green?

Re: RWC 2019
Scannell would become an attractive option in the event of an injury to Aki or Henshaw due to his ability to cover 10. I'd be interested to see how he'd go with the better attack coaching at Ireland level compared to Munster.wixfjord wrote:Roux and Addison probably the big surprises out of that. Apparently Roux has a neck injury so is out at the moment. He might come back into the mix. Surprised about Tom Farrell. I thought he would have being worth a look, Deegan too.

Re: RWC 2019
England vs Baabaa's is well worth a watch. Three Connacht players got gametime with Heffernan getting on the scoresheet.
Re: RWC 2019
There are already 4 outhalves in the training squad.leinsterforever wrote:

There are 4 centres but it's been an attritional position so 5th choice is not totally irrelevant. I'd have had McCloskey in there ahead of Scannell though.

Re: RWC 2019
Scannell's inclusion is 90%+ down to his use of the left peg. Cooney rated ahead of him as cover for 10. Carty is the 10 who has made most progress, over the past 4 months, in the view of coaches.ronk wrote:There are already 4 outhalves in the training squad.leinsterforever wrote:
