Our back 5, including replacements, looks very callow next to theirs

That is a very green selection to send to Scoutsdown: possibly only 6 of that 23 will have any involvement in the Northampton fixtures.
If they get something out of the game, it is a huge result for the squad.

Nice to see Ferg on there - I had understood he would be out for longer.

The more I look at the team the more optimistic I get. Dunne seems to have dropped down the pecking order a bit, great audition for the 20 shirt next week.

Price, Horne, and Matawalu starting really is a recipe for chaos. Each one of them likes to run off on their own from time to time and I'd say Josh Murphy will appear from nowhere to smash them a few times. Tempt them into going for a half gap and then bang.

A young team but not a callow one. I would not be going in confident but I would be more than hopefull. The 9/10 axis has delivered in bigger games than this and the pack is strong enough. As long as the pack is not going in reverse and can provide the backs some good quick ball this could be interesting.

A young team but not a callow one.
Agreed. This is a team with belief and can get a win. All these guys have a chance to show they should be there for the big games. Looking forward to this.

Didn't hear that. Was it mentioned in any injury update?
Any idea how long he's out for?

Very big ask for the young lads but these tests are how you progress. We've enough in the bank in the Pro14 that it's a risk free gamble.

Think it was mentioned in one of the updates before the Euro games. I suspect he's been out injured since before the last league match at home to the Dragons.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Glasgow are 3 point favourites for this.

Bit surprised tbh. Thought they'd have been more

I'm a big fan of Vakh but he really needs games. He's the perfect candidate for a loan move IMO, even just a short term one as injury cover somewhere.

The two areas of sharpest contrast in experience are the back three and the back-row. In the back three, the inclusion of Ferg would bring some equality in the contrast but there's nothing we could do to even up the contrast in experience in the back-row.

Back-row: c. 60 caps vs 550
Back three: c. 75 vs 417 - but Ferg 179 caps

Let's see what the contest shows.

If we could manage to persuade somebody to take our injured players on loan until they recover and pay their wages - it could be a genius move.
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.

Match Preview

Leinster got the job done last week.

It wasn't pretty but wins in France rarely are. Lyon did what big French packs generally do and tried to overpower Leinster. But the Leinster defence stood firm and once they got a lead they were able to grind out a win and keep Lyon at arm's length.

Maybe that's what's happening with Joey?

Not sure if you were being snarky or not but obviously I was aware that he was injured given that the comments that mentioned him were in relation to his injury status!
