I see Tom Parsons made it back for Mayo at the weekend after 15 months out. Not sure how similar the injuries were exactly but I remember people mentioning him when Leavy got injured, hopefully that bodes well for Dan too.

Cian Tracey
Dan Leavy is ahead of schedule in terms of his rehab and all going well, is hoping to be back for Leinster before the end of the season.

Still a long way to go, but really good news after such a horrific knee injury.
Listened to an interview with him last night on off the ball, said he had damage to all the ligaments in his knee with tears to ACL and PCL.

Good honest interview that he will struggle with watching the World Cup, have to feel for him. Off to Bali for 2 weeks during it! Can't be easy when you set your sights on performing on the world stage and for it to all end like that, 25 so hopefully he makes a full recovery and we see him back on the pitch. Hoping to be back by the end of the season!

Andrew Trimble (on Joe.ie) mentioned that he met Dan during the RWC and Dan was saying that he is progressing very well.

And there, in two simple sentences, is the difference between a pessimist and an optimist

What a brilliant sight!

Doesn't look like he's taking it handy anyway!

They are two pretty big surgical scars for 2019.
Was astonished the IRFU allowed Herbst back to Ulster in October. The guy should be paying the IRFU and Leavy compensation.

Anyway, given that, amazing to see his leg obviously taking some serious stress (with those weights) so soon.

Visually, you can really see the effect of the injury on his body and the way it's impacted his training. His upper body is probably bigger than before the injury, but his legs look tiny in relative terms, almost as small as the average 'untrained' man (by which I mean no weightlifting).

The most prohibitive part of knee ligament recovery is change of direction running. One can start back at squats and deadlifts quicker than you think

Dans case is certainly more complicated than average, especially with the hamstring tear in it. But I'd hope that he's been able work lower limbs for a number of months now. Wasn't there rumours that he was doing leg curls in July?
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

Yep, he was seen in UCD gym doing (very lightweight) leg curls.
