It'd be good to have Barry Daly back soon. Anyone hear anything of how he's getting on? Original prognosis was "up to 5 months", which would mean mid Feb.

James Ryan has signed a three-year contract to the end of the 2022/23 season.

So JR onto a central contract for three more years.. With Toner likely coming off his and back onto a Leinster contract.

Kearney McGrath and Toner finishing Central contracts. Stockdale Aki and Ryan starting.

Best and SOB also finishing.

I can See Ringrose going central. Possibly Larmour or VDF?

Excellent article (as always) about the range of Irish talent who will be part of the US MLR in the US in the coming months:
https://www.the42.ie/major-league-rugby ... 0-Feb2020/

Some Clubs are bitching about the loss of players to this League from their AIL teams but the reality is that this League has more impact than the IRFU Rugby Committee in ensuring that the AIL remains a competition for amateur players, rather than the pseudo, semi-pros, fielded by Cork Con, Lansdowne and Clontarf in recent years.

An interesting collection of players particularly the young 2nd / back-row players who may qualify for the US by residency.

Ah, what a shame to break up the Byrne twins!

Good move for him though, he's stuck behind two senior guys with good injury profiles in Tracy/Cronin, and Kelleher who is probably our starting #2 for the foreseeable. Along with Sheehan coming behind.

Bristol have Thacker there who's injured at the minute.

Also seemingly looking at Jack Singleton or Jamie George for next year, so I wonder will this be more than a loan move or will he look to go elsewhere.

This potentially gives more scope to bring Sheehan in for a few games too.

Good luck to him. He’s a very good hooker, just caught behind a bunch of even better hookers.

Is he really that much behind Tracy? I’m yet to be convinced that JT has what it takes.
Cronin only has a couple of years max left
If we’re losing one at the end of the season, I’m not entirely certain it’s Byrne I would want to lose.

Going by minutes/games this season I'd say Tracy is comfortably ahead of Byrne, or has Byrne been injured?
Numbers aside, Tracy has been playing really well this season too

Tracy has been comfortably ahead of him for years and Kelleher bypassed him quite easily this season. The writing was on the wall. Fair play to him taking the loan to try and get some gametime. He signed a contract last season so it's unclear if he is out of contract this season. Clearly a popular member of the squad though.. Hope it goes well for him.

Good luck to him he's an excellent player and I'm sure is getting a decent wage at Bristol. Would love to have him stay in the Irish System but he'll be quality wherever he goes.
