Just going on the above posts, but soft tissue injury could be bruising or a "knock"? In which case he could miss the Munster match and slowly integrated across PRO 14. Sexton is no stranger to playing injured and short of a muscle tear or broken bone he seems to get on the field

Let’s wait for confirmation on those injuries.

Injuries always give young players a chance to come through.

We have options at 10 and Ryan Baird is a tremendous prospect. Not all doom and gloom.

Obviously I'd prefer if Ryan wasn't injured but I think this could be good for him in the long run. It's been a hectic few years for him and his body will have taken an awful lot of punishment so to have a 9 month break (or whatever it turns out to be) and miss this weird delayed end to the season (personally it all feels very hollow but I realise others will feel differently) and then be fresh for the new season and be able to still be in good shape by the end of the Lions tour instead of being in bits before he even gets on the plane could be a good thing.

He certainly hasn't been carrying the Leinster pack (although I think he has done so for Ireland) but I'm excited about how we step up without him. I was looking forward to seeing him up against Snyman and I'm sure Munster are itching to lay down a marker but now there's a a real opportunity to dominate our second rows. Baird is the perfect bench option for us IMO and I'm sure he'll get a chance to illustrate that now but the depth we have in the back row is incredible so it'll be interesting to see what we do. Baird and Leavy seem like great bench options to make an impact in the bigger games but if we start with Rhys, Josh, and Conan then that would mean Doris and Deegan both missing out. I suspect Doris might keep his starting place but there are some seriously tough calls there and some brilliant players are going to be kicking their heels.

This new 8 Nations competition seems made for Baird to give Ireland a boost and announce himself on the international stage.

I agree - according to Instagram he was at one of the Applegreen stations in his new car on Friday. It was their birthday and his and they got a cake for him!!

And only a couple of days before that there was the photo on twitter of himself and Max Deegan in Connemara about to hop on a ferry to one of the islands, and sure a healthier and happier looking pair of young fellas you'd have trouble finding!!!

The fact that the other provenience have released 'injury reports' two days ago and not a whisper of any sort from Leinster HQ concerns me.
